Entry: El Clásico is the match that everyone marks on their calendars because it means the battle of the two most followed clubs in the world. On this occasion, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid arrived at the Camp Nou for Matchday 26 with the “Merengues” seeking to close the gap in points with 12 games to play in LaLiga.
At ESPN we kicked off our broadcast with two pregame shows on all our platforms, Fuera de Juego (Spanish) and ESPN FC (English), so that anyone with internet access in the United States could enjoy our coverage.
Soccer fans were also able to enjoy the game called in English by Ian Darke and analysis from Madrid legend, Steve McManama. In Spanish we had play-by-play from Fernando Palomo and our analyst, the former Spanish attacker of FC Barcelona and Liverpool, Luis García.
In addition, we brought the passion of ElClásico to the fans in Los Angeles with a Watch Party organized by ESPN and LaLiga, where attendees had the opportunity to watch the game alongside Hugo Sánchez (Real Madrid's Mexican legend), Riqui Puig (former FC Barcelona and current LA Galaxy player) and Hérculez Gómez (former American soccer player).
