Katia Castorena

Katia Castorena is a bilingual reporter for ESPN International and ESPN Deportes with ten years of experience covering sports across collegiate, national and international leagues. Her work is telecasted and published daily to Hispanic audiences both in the United States and across Latin American homes. Originally from Southern California and raised in Tijuana, Mexico, Katia discovered her passion for sports media and began her career in television as a student at the University of Southern California. After college, she became a reporter for a local station in Tijuana before transitioning to the national media team in Mexico City with ESPN International where she lived for five years. In 2019, she moved back to Southern California joining the ESPN Deportes family to cover sports in Los Angeles. Her coverage of high impact global events include FIFA Women’s World Cup, NFL Monday Night Football, Formula 1 Grand Prix, NBA Finals and CONCACAF soccer tournaments.
Katia is based in Los Angeles, California where she spends her free time playing with her Schnauzer dogs, going to sporting events and taking dance lessons.
